Retro Beads ~ Polymer Clay Workshop
Who would have thought we'd be talking about workshops at The Handmade Show? Yes that's right, we have been doing just that. So now, not only can you buy gorgeous creations from our stall holders, relax at the cafe and enjoy the entertainment, we're also going to give you the opportunity to try something creative yourself.
The Handmade Show is hosting its very first creative workshop on Saturday 12th April. It will be run by the lovely Dani from The Whimsical Bead.
Students will learn the basics of working with polymer clay and about the tools and accessories that can be used with this medium. They will also learn the basics of ‘caning’ and use an ‘extruder’ to create a dotty ‘retro’ cane and then learn to make pieces from this cane. Students will have the option of what they choose to create – beads, pendants, scrapbook embellishments etc. If they do not wish to create this particular project, they are more than welcome to come and learn about working with polymer clay and then have some ‘free play time’ to experiment with the clay and make their own creation/s.
This is a short workshop which will run from 10.30am until 3.00pm (4.5 hours) There will be a 1 hour break in the middle of this time frame where students can go and have lunch and browse the market. During the students break Dani will bake their creations.
Cost and Bookings:
The cost of this workshop is $40 (plus materials).
Bookings will be taken via Dani either online or via phone or email.
For more detailed information please go to Dani's website where you can find out more about this workshop; plus make your booking.
